MISSION HILLS OFFERS FREE GOLF TO JUNIORS

Shenzhen, China, January 2 -- The world’s largest golf club, Mission Hills China, is providing free golf to juniors under 16 from anywhere in the world to play three of its acclaimed courses.   To mark its 20th anniversary, Mission Hills – which has 12 courses at Shenzhen in Guangdong province and 10 on the southern island of Hainan – is opening up its Zhang Lian-Wei course at Shenzhen and Stepping Stone and Double Pin courses at Haikou (on Hainan) to nurture the development of junior golf as the sport prepares for its return to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.   “For the past 20 years, Mission Hills has been committed to promoting and popularising golf in China, especially among junior golfers,” the vice chairman of Mission Hills Group, Tenniel Chu, said in making the announcement. ...Read more...

GOLF IN A KINGDOM HELPS THAILAND TO TOP GOLF AWARD

December 21, 2012

Bangkok, December 20 -- Five members of Thailand's Golf In A Kingdom group scored a cluster of major local and regional awards at the annual Asia Pacific Golf Summit in Brunei last week. In doing so, they substantially helped Thailand being named Asia Pacific's golf destination of the year. Black Mountain Golf Club, Hua Hin, was voted Best Course in Thailand for the second consecutive year as well as being named second best course in Asia Pacific. Banyan Golf Club, also at Hua Hin, received the top award for Best Clubhouse in Asia Pacific and was named second best course in Thailand. Siam Country Club's Plantation Course near Pattaya was named Best Maintained Course in Asia Pacific for the second year in a row. SAN DIEGO, Calif., USA (20 December 2013) -- Registration is now open for the 2013 Golf Industry Show, world golf's largest industry trade show and its most comprehensive education conference for golf course management professionals. While the trade show event will be held 6-7 February 2013, at the San Diego Convention Center, the 2013 Education Conference -- administered by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) -- will run 4-8 February, including a day-long session conducted entirely in Mandarin Chinese on 6 February. "The Golf Industry Show is the place to get answers," said GCSAA Chief Executive Officer Rhett Evans. MISSION HILLS HAIKOU NAMED TOP GOLF RESORT IN ASIA PACIFIC

Haikou, China, December 17 -- The pre-eminence of Mission Hills’ Haikou resort was confirmed at last week’s Asia Pacific Golf Summit in Brunei. The 10-course complex, which includes Asia’s largest mineral springs and spa facility, was named Best Golf Resort in Asia Pacific, while its signature Blackstone course took out the top award for Best Championship Course in the region and Best Course in China.   Together, the 10 courses at Mission Hills Haikou is the largest collection of lava-based golf courses in the world.
