NULLARBOR LINKS - A great way to travel! Continued... Day 3 Having “beaten” the crow by playing in the twilight, it required an early driving start to reach NL Hole 15 - Wombat Hole. Another 500+ metre par 5 which proved too long for writer in the early morning fog, although I did manage to avoid the abandoned wrecked car down the fairway !  The now routine chip and two putts onto the synthetic surfaces became one putt this morning, but still netted a double bogey ! Definitely searching for the finish line and checking to see if there’s enough diesel in the tank to hold out for the (hopefully) cheaper fuel at Ceduna. NULLARBOR LINKS - A great way to travel! Continued...     Day 2 started at Cocklebiddy, which is Nullarbor Links Hole 9. It represents one of the longest 347 metres this writer has ever played. Admittedly it had been raining early that morning turning red dirt to mud and the ‘greenstaff’ didn’t seem to have cut the grass (?) down between the white posts for the last several weeks (Cocklebiddy claims a population of just 8 persons and 1,234,567 kangaroos, you’d think between them they’d get the grass down !), so the Eagles Nest had no fear of offering up an eagle. Day 1.  If you’ve been feeling a little bored of playing your same track week after week then how about a change of pace and taking on the challenge of The Nullarbor Links! This course measures a little under 6000 metres, but plays a full 1365 kilometres ! It’s a long way between greens to tees ! It stretches along the Nullarbor Plain adjacent to The Great Australian Bight across the Southern part of Australia. It has been created by combining play at some holes on existing golf courses with several specially constructed holes at various Roadhouses along the route.
